 This is a Camping Safari to the vanishing Africa, one of the remotest and fascinating areas of all Africa. Lake Turkana, also known as the 'Jade Sea' is a breath-taking site, vast and totally barren apart from a few stunted thorn trees. It is a highly saline soda lake particularly at the Southern end but less saline in the northern end. It is home to fish and crocodiles. |
Your first glimpse of the remote waters (covering an area almost half as large as England) , guarded by the mystical giant Mt.Kulal and unchanged by time is a memorable experience that will last in your mind for along period of time.

| APS 015: 8 DAYS TURKANA SPECIAL |
DAY 1: NAIROBI / BARINGO Depart Nairobi for Lake Baringo at 0930hrs. Picnic lunch at Nakuru arriving lake Baringo in late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the camp. Available on request is a boat trip to see the many birds, which inhabit this lake.
DAY 2: BARINGO / MARALAL / BARAGOI Leave Baringo for Maralal after breakfast. Picnic lunch enroute. On arrival at Maralal, take a leisurely walk through this most colourful town. Proceed to Baragoi via Losiolo which is on the edge of the Great Rift Valley. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.
DAY 3: BARAGOI / LAKE TURKANA After breakfast, leave Baragoi for Lake Turkana arriving in time for lunch at El- molo campsite, which is on the shores of Lake Turkana. A visit to an El - molo village is available on request. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.
DAY 4: LAKE TURKANA After breakfast, visit El-molo village. Lunch at campsite followed by leisure fishing or swimming crocodiles permitting. All meals and overnight at the campsite.
DAY 5: TURKANA / MARALAL After breakfast, leave Turkana for Maralal. Lunch enroute. Dinner and overnight at Maralal.
DAY 6: MARALAL / SAMBURU After breakfast, leave Maralal for Samburu Game Reserve. On arrival proceed to the campsite and there after proceed for a short evening game drive. Return to the campsite for Dinner and overnight.
DAY 7: SAMBURU Pre- and after breakfast game drive, to see the unusual reticulated Girraffe and the Somali Ostrich then returning to camp for lunch. Another late afternoon game drive returning to camp for dinner and overnight.
DAY 8: SAMBURU / MT. KENYA / NAIROBI After breakfast, leave Samburu for Nanyuki town where a picnic lunch is served. Clients wishing to climb Mt. Kenya are dropped here while the rest proceed to Nairobi arriving in the early evening. |
